Sarah + Anthony | Maybury State Park
Sarah and Anthony love being outdoors, hiking, and camping. They have a bucket list goal of visiting all 63 National Parks in the United States (they’ve been to 12 so far!) and got engaged on The Loch trail in the Rocky Mountains. So naturally, they wanted to have their engagement photos taken somewhere that reflects that part of their relationship, and Maybury State Park was the perfect place!
Back when Sarah and I were planning this engagement session she proposed the idea of having a bonfire or camp set up but thought that might be excessive. When she sent over her ideas I was totally on board and thought it was such a fun idea (and definitely NOT excessive!), so we made it happen and I’m just thrilled with all of the photos from their session. I especially love all the bonfire photos!
This engagement session had a lot of elements and moving parts: multiple locations at Maybury Park, a bonfire, props, and their dog Atlas! An engagement session with this many extra details takes some planning and preparation in order for it to go smoothly! Sarah and I emailed back and forth a lot prior to make sure everything was thought through from the specific location in the park to making sure there was someone else there with us to handle the dog when we weren’t including Atlas in the photos. I have to give a ton of credit to Sarah and Anthony for being so organized and prepared! They arrived early to set up the bonfire spot and they were all ready to go once their session started which made my job so easy and made the session super fun and relaxed!
Sarah and Anthony’s photos are so personal and really showcase their mutual love of being outdoors. Although it took an extra bit of work to put together, it was totally worth it for the end result and I highly recommend thinking of ways to personalize your engagement session like these two did!
I had THE best time photographing Sarah and Anthony! It truly was such a fun evening and I felt like I was spending time with long-time friends! I’m so excited for their Fall wedding!
