Mia + Nathan | Belle Isle, Detroit
This Belle Isle Detroit engagement with Mia and Nathan was another session that was highly anticipated and rescheduled a couple times, so when we were finally able to make it happen I was just so excited and thankful!
This engagement session is extra special because Mia and my younger sister played travel soccer together growing up, so I’ve known Mia since we were all younger! When she reached out to me about shooting her wedding I was just thrilled and it was great to see her after so long, catch up, and also meet her fiancé, Nathan!
We had the perfect evening at Belle Isle with great weather and gorgeous sunset light! We started out at the casino building and then stopped at the really amazing willow trees that are nearby. Then we moved over to outside of the conservatory and then finished up at the fountain right as the sunset was about to be gone!
It was seriously such a fun shoot and Mia and Nathan were amazing to work with, super laid back, and up for all of my (sometimes wacky) ideas and methods. Near the end of the shoot I’m always saying “Oh just a few more over here and we’ll be done!” and it ends up being a lot more than a few and they were super enthusiastic the whole time and were willing take “just a few more” shots.
