Tyler + Nic | Mackinac Island, Michigan
Ahh!! I’ve been looking forward to sharing this STUNNING Mackinac Island wedding since Tyler and Nic’s wedding day. It was one of the best days and I’m still in complete awe of how beautiful the entire day was!
This was another wedding that was supposed to happen in 2020 and ended up getting rescheduled to this year. It was also my first time on Mackinac Island so this day was highly anticipated and I was so excited it was finally happening! The weather had been calling for rain all week but that morning it was clear only called for rain later in the afternoon.
We started the day with getting ready photos and then a first look followed by portraits around the inn’s grounds and on a dock a short walk down the street. It started sprinkling while we were taking the dock photos so we ended up cutting portraits early and hurried back to the inn just in time! Tyler and Nic had a unique and intimate ceremony on the Inn’s Veranda that included a handfasting ceremony and also a quaich ceremony and ended the day with a reception with their very closest family and friends.
From a photographer’s standpoint, these two had the most ideal timeline! Which is a win for not only me but also Tyler and Nic because they ended up with a lot more photos than if we were to have less time for certain parts of the day! A few things that helped make their timeline ideal was having a first look, doing all the main photos before the ceremony, and allowing for a very generous hour and a half portrait timeframe for photos of just the two of them. I was SO thankful for this on the day which made it no big deal to end portraits early due to the rain since we were able to get a majority of the photos done before the rain!
Tyler and Nic – Thank you for allowing me to photograph your wedding! It was so great working with you both the past couple of years! I hope you’ve been enjoying being married and I send you my very best wishes!
