Julia + Chris | Belle Isle Detroit Engagement
I always love a Belle Isle Detroit engagement session! It’s such a gem of a location, and this spring, I was finally able to catch the epic cherry blossom blooms near the fountain!! Spring got a super late start, so everything was slow to bloom. Julia, Chris, and I had chosen an earlier date for their engagement session, and then, as we got closer, things were still looking pretty dead outside, so we had to push the date! I was really, really trying to time it right so we’d be able to take photos around the cherry blossoms! Thankfully, I got it right the second time, and it was perfect timing! The whole island was waking up from winter, and it was the perfect spring engagement session!
This session is a great example of how impactful it is to have a second outfit! When couples ask me about this, I always highly encourage bringing a second look! It really added great variety to Julia and Chris’ photos and gave them two different looks to choose from: one more casual and one more dressed up! They also had two different color schemes, one very spring and one that almost had more of a fall look. This can help give your photos more mileage and make them relevant to post or display in your home during any season! They also brought their sweet dog Luna for some photos too. Including your cute dogs is something I always encourage! 😉
Julia and Chris met in October 2018, had their second date on Halloween (which is Julia’s favorite holiday!), and then got engaged at the end of October 2021, so it’s only fitting that they get married in October! They’re set to get married in just a few months, and I can’t wait to share my favorites from their wedding day!
