Laurel + Justin | Cass Benton Park, Northville
Laurel and Justin met in the fall of 2019 through a mutual friend at a tailgate in Ann Arbor, and in 2022 Justin proposed to Laurel on the beach at the Mission Point Lighthouse in Traverse City! (gorgeous!) They then spent the rest of the perfect day wine tasting.
One request for their engagement session was to make sure that we took photos that would be relevant all year long and not only photos that look very “fall” with only fall-colored leaves. In Michigan, at the peak of the fall season, this was a fun challenge! What helped to achieve this was utilizing multiple locations and finding areas at the park that were less orange/yellow and still pretty green. Multiple locations (and also outfits!) is something I’m always pushing to my clients when planning engagement sessions or wedding day portraits. Even if we only spend 15-20 minutes at the secondary location, I still think the variety that multiple locations creates is super important in order to receive a really well-assorted final gallery!
Photographing in the fall is my absolute favorite, and this session was so much fun with such a fun couple! I’m beyond excited for their wedding!
